K800 Logitech

Hello,
I have two K800 keyboards. One of them has been unused for over a year.
I put it back in service, but the charging doesn't work: there is only a flashing red light instead of the three green lights that scroll one after the other.
However, the keyboard works with the USB cable; without it, it doesn't respond anymore.
I took a look at the battery compartment but didn't dare to do more.
Is there a way for the charging with the USB cable to work again?
Thank you in advance for any help
Best regards.

rechargeable batteries that have not been used for over a year... there is a strong chance they are dead... leave them charging for more than 5 hours...

The problem is, Logitech states the batteries are not user-replaceable.

If the batteries are dead, you'll have to tinker....
