It's been 2 years since then I have 880€ of off-plan charges with Orange. I didn't want to pay at the beginning; they sent me threatening letters in every color, and after a while they dropped the matter. I know that after 5 years everything in pursuit is canceled, and now I plan to do the same with SFR.

2) choose a card-reloadable plan if you don’t want to pay.

Here is my problem.

A year ago, I had an unpaid bill with Orange Internet causing the line to be cut. I paid my due and requested to have my line back in question. It took 4 months during which I had the total account erased, definitively deleted, non-existent line, creation of a new account twice, address swap with another customer, recovery of another person's account, and a €10 monthly charge billed for nothing, etc.

In the end, they granted me 1 month free and, like every new customer with a new subscription, €10 per month for 3 months following the first free month.

Once my line was found, the first free month started at the very beginning of my new subscription with payment, and during a period of 3 months Orange Internet did not provide any invoice and did not debit my account. Seeing that, I contacted them at the very start of this period to avoid any trouble, and they replied that it comes from them and that it is an IT problem that will be resolved very quickly (3 months have nonetheless passed).

In the 3rd month I receive an invoice of about €120 instead of €90 provided by my contract. I call them to pay my bill because that is the only way they propose to pay this delay (on their part). and I am told that this is impossible and to wait for my next bill which, once received, amounts to €224.55. I do not understand it all, but oh well.

I still remind Orange that I have one free month and 3 months with €10 offered; I call Orange for a different payment option and I am told that I would receive my schedule soon but nothing has arrived and my internet line is suddenly cut anyway. I call them again to understand and they ask me to simply settle my bill (at that moment I was waiting for my bank card after losing my wallet; they tell me it is not a problem and they reconnect my line with a mutual arrangement to pay within 5 days (in the worst case by bank transfer).

Two days after my line was cut, not a big deal, the next day I planned to call them to pay and ask for contact details as proof of good faith, and they tell me my file has been handed to a bailiff...? But I can still pay my internet bill with them, yet I would be terminated immediately afterward, not a big deal, I tell myself, and I ask again to pay in 3 months (which I was granted but never got any debit or schedule).

Receiving nothing, I end up with a letter from a bailiff in perpetuity the geese (Perpete les oies).

What should I do knowing that I have acted in good faith throughout these perilous adventures, and that every problem A was added by Orange.

Don't worry, I also had an unpaid bill with SFR, I received several threats of bailiffs, and being in the same situation as your friend, I couldn't pay my bill, though I panicked for several months thinking they would come to my place, but they fortunately ended up forgetting me... after 6 months. On the other hand, your friend won't have the possibility to take out another line in their name for five years. Good luck.

I am a student and I owe SFR 280€. What could happen if I don’t pay it, because I am totally unable to pay, I don’t receive any money or a scholarship and I live with my parents. Can they seize from my parents? Can they force me to pay? Or could I be summoned to court and be judged and condemned to pay or something like that?

Hello everyone, so I’ve got good news and bad news for you!!! The good news is that I too in the past had unpaid invoices just like you; I used to be scared when I received letters from collection agencies, bailiffs, etc... the fear of a bailiff showing up to seize stuff...
well, know one thing: it’s all big B.S. They will never come; they have no means, because if someone hasn’t paid, it’s because they don’t have the means. They’re not going to put a knife to your throat... they send letters that put real pressure on you and that lets some customers pay, and thus the operator makes money... you’ll see, they’ll tire themselves out well before you ;)

the bad news is that not paying will get you reported to the Preventel file, and then you won’t be able to open a line in your own name for five years...

so the solution is not to pay and to arrange with someone you trust to take the line in their name for you... a tip: to avoid being screwed for five years, run up a big bill ;)

Hello, I just received a bailiff's letter from Orange asking me to pay an invoice of €900. In April 2009 I opened a line for someone who was Blacklisted Preventel; in July this person stopped paying me, so I suspended the line while waiting. Having heard nothing from this person, I had my bank refuse the automatic debit. I am a scholarship student and I live with my parents.

5 years later a bailiff came to my place, and i pay!! on the other hand with sfr nothing but when you try to reconnect a line with them they ask you to pay what you owe else they won’t reconnect you,!
