Question

Hello,

I am new to your forum and I'm experiencing exactly the same issue that you were able to resolve in this post:

I have an old PC running XP on which Google Chrome was recently installed.
Following your first recommendation from the above post step by step, I installed and ran Otl.exe. I now have 2 great reports as you mentioned.
But that’s where my (very limited) computer knowledge ends.
I don't know if I’m allowed to directly post the links to these reports on this forum or if it’s better to wait for your go-ahead.

If someone more skilled than me in IT could spare a moment to advise me, that would be super nice.

Hi,

Follow this tutorial: https://www.malekal.com/tutoriel-farbar-recovery-scan-tool-frst/
This will generate two FRST reports.
Send these two reports to the mentioned site as explained, and provide the two pjjoint links to these reports so they can be reviewed.

Are the OTL reports not suitable?
On the link you sent me, there are 2 versions of the software: 32 or 64 bits. I don't have anything specified in the system tab of the PC.
I don't know which version I have on my PC... I'm really a burden, I'm sorry...
Could you guide me?

In any case, we don't see anything malicious in the reports.

No, I don't think it's a virus problem, it must be a program that launches cmd.. but finding out which one isn't necessarily simple.

Next:
NOD32 found nothing except traces of a trojan in Sim City, a game my kid has had installed on the PC for 5/6 years and which has never caused us any problems, whereas the anomaly appeared 2 days ago.
As far as I remember, I haven't installed anything on the PC recently except for an update of the virus definitions for Spy Boot.

If anyone has any ideas.

Yes! Yes! Yes!
While going into the Task Scheduler, I noticed that I had a task:
SpuBoot Check for Update whose execution coincided with the PC's startup time. However, Spyboot is configured on my system for manual updates and scans.
I disabled this task and since then....... no more alert screen......
A huge thank you to you, Mr. Malekal. Following your advice step by step, everything seems to have returned to normal.
