Well guys, you right-click on the desktop -> properties -> desktop tab -> button: "desktop personalization" -> web tab and there you see your screenshot of the unfortunate image thief, just select it and delete it.....

Upload your favorite photo, then right-click on the photo and finally click on "Set as desktop wallpaper"! The desktop page that was white and had a recovery option (which does not work...) has now disappeared in favor of the photo.

To start, I have exactly this message that appears when my computer crashes by itself.

Sometimes my screen has no icons and sometimes I get the active desktop recovery message. When I try to recover it, the message above appears also when I go on MSN by changing the location. I'm not sure if it's related.

For now, I'm just settling for resetting the wallpaper, but having my computer shut down at random times throughout the day is not very pleasant. I've followed the proposed method, but when I right-click on the desktop, I don't see anything related to AD. Maybe the solution given is not the same for my problem. I also have the same problem on my laptop (Windows XP - 0.99 GB of RAM): on the desktop, an active desktop recovery page appeared when I opened my computer. Since then, I am unable to change the wallpaper. None of the suggested tips work. I have tried all the tips you provided above but it doesn't work. Additionally, I do not have an "active desktop" tab when I right-click on the desktop...
