Hello,
Having purchased a Sony DVD recorder HXD990 yesterday, I would like to copy my VHS tapes that are aging poorly, but I am prevented from doing so by the copy protection.
Is there a solution?
Thank you in advance.

Hello, I read somewhere that with an old VCR it could work, otherwise filming your screen... but well, I don't know of any "miracle" solution.
Good evening,
commercial cassettes can be protected by a copy protection system, usually MacroVision, which DVD recorders recognize. They then refuse the copy. Videograms generally cannot be copied.
However, there are solutions, but it doesn't seem reasonable to discuss them publicly here. A private message would be more appropriate.

Hello. If it's true that there are solutions to remove the Macrovision protection from VHS tapes, I'm interested because I have a lot of Disney VHS tapes of my daughter that I would like to keep, but I don't want to buy them again in DVD format; paying once is enough, right? Thank you in advance for your help. All of this remains, of course, within the scope of private life.
Well, let's simplify by saying that there used to be devices capable of restoring a correct signal from a camcorder. These devices can still be found secondhand on the internet.
Sorry, I can't say more publicly.
Just above my message, there is my name in blue, click on it if you have an account here, otherwise, you won't be able to.
