Call of Duty World at War Profile Issue

Hi everyone =)
Well, without further ado, I'm going to explain my problem^^
I just got the game Call of Duty World at War on PC, I install it without any issues, the single-player mode works perfectly, but the problem arises with multiplayer..
Indeed, when I try to connect, the game asks me to create a profile, I type a random name, then it asks for an online profile, I type a name again (whether it's the same or different, nothing changes), and then it asks me to create a profile again, and this goes on indefinitely.. :' ( And without a profile, of course, there's no multiplayer mode.. So, if anyone has a solution to my problem, I'm here^^

I have the same problem and I can't create a profile even with the compatibility tricks... nothing works!!! Please help us!

You need to find a new CD key.

Finally, I was just as stuck as you. I did some research on serial sites and found a key for Call of Duty 5 online. I replaced it in the options of Call 5, restarted, and then everything worked fine! I already had 2-3 online profiles and I was able to create mine without any issue!

So I have the same issue as you with the key because I formatted my PC

I've redownloaded all the patches etc. and the game installs fine in solo mode, but as soon as I want to play online, it doesn't connect. It shows "abs" in the top right and tells me I'm not connected to the internet, so I can't create a profile. It would be great if you could help me. Thanks in advance!

Est-ce qu'on est obligé d'installer le patch pour pouvoir jouer en ligne, s'il vous plaît ? Je n'arrive pas à créer un profil, aidez-moi, s'il vous plaît.

Pour jouer à Call of Duty: World at War en mode Zombie Nazi à deux joueurs sur Xbox 360, suivez ces étapes : 1. Insérez le jeu dans votre console et lancez-le. 2. Dans le menu principal, sélectionnez « Zombies ». 3. Choisissez l'option pour jouer en local ou en écran partagé. 4. Le deuxième joueur doit appuyer sur le bouton « Start » sur sa manette pour rejoindre la partie. 5. Sélectionnez la carte que vous souhaitez jouer et vous êtes prêt à commencer. Amusez-vous bien !

Hi! I'm in the same situation! I can't play multiplayer! The game keeps asking me to create a profile indefinitely.

It's the key that's the problem! Find a key online, there are some circulating on serial sites... patch it with the client server 1.3 and you play on the crackers! Because the key probably allows you to play on the normal servers but it's probably used by more than 10,000 people, so ;)

--have you checked if your folder in document and setting / your username / local setting application data
is not read-only (attribute)

in this case it cannot save your profile

is it asking you again and again

anyway that's where your profile should be

Hello everyone, I think you all have this little problem, or rather this huge problem with profile creation. I have the solution that works for Vista. For those on XP, I don’t know if you can do it like on Vista. In any case, for Vista, you just need to open the Call of Duty: World at War folder, then right-click on the application CodWawmp.exe, click on Properties, then click on the Compatibility tab, check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for: and set it to Windows XP (Service Pack 2). Also check the box at the bottom Run this program as an administrator. There you go, normally profile creation should work, but when you want to join a server, everything will work, but after about 1 minute of play, a PunkBuster message will appear in English and you will get kicked from the server. Don’t worry, to fix this problem, just download patch 1.1. !!!FOR DOWNLOAD PLATFORMS LIKE STEAM, THE PATCH DOWNLOAD DOES NOT WORK, SO BUY THE GAME IN A BOX!!!

Hi everyone

it's pretty simple actually, if you want to play wow, you just have to buy the game, you know, with the box from a store with a valid cd-key and not download a hacked version... that's it

I have the original game purchased on 06/06/2009 (for €59.99) and the problem is the same.

Hi, sorry I'm not here to help you but just to say that you’re not the only one because I bought Call of Duty World at War the day before yesterday and having already finished the solo mode, I wanted to jump into multiplayer and I have the same problem as you... well, I don't understand anything either and on top of that, I searched on websites and none mention a bug like this =/ it's weird because when I see that in the first four, I've never had this problem...
So there you go, I’ll be following this topic hoping to get some answers and I especially hope that we’re not the only two with this problem lol.

Listen to me, I simply closed the window after they asked me for the first time, I clicked on "online" at the top right and it worked. Well, I hope it will be the same for you!

Hi, it's quite simple, just launch the game in multiplayer mode click > cod5 multi

click > choose online profile click > new > enter a name without special characters like ( . [

if you haven't created a profile, you might get the message > create an online profile
click on it and wait (you need an internet connection)

Well, if everyone is asking, it's because it doesn't work like that, you filthy noob. I've got the same problem; there's no way to play online, yet I've finished the game solo.

That's exactly the problem, we can't create a profile. Personally, I don't use any special characters, and as soon as I try to validate my profile, the game asks me to create one again, as if what I entered hadn't been taken into account.

--as I mentioned earlier, your file may be read-only. Modify the attributes

so that cod 5 CAN SAVE YOUR PROFILE

Hello everyone, I have a similar problem to yours, but it's due to a formatting issue. I forgot to check in this folder, and that's why I'm having your problem. But how do I get back to my old profile because I was level 59 and it would really bother me to have to start all over again.

first, your documents and settings folder/your name must be writable; otherwise, you cannot modify the attributes of your subfolders

you also need admin permission to do this

otherwise, log in as an admin

Me too, I have the same problem. It's annoying, I wanted to snipe a bit online and when I create a profile, the same response comes back and says "you need an online profile bla bla bla.... do you want to create a profile now?" If anyone knows how to solve this issue, it would be great to hear from YOU.
