gta 4 fatal error Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,
I have GTA 4 and when I launch it after 5 seconds, I get an error message FATAL ERROR GTA IV: RMN40 and nothing happens. I uninstalled and reinstalled it but the same error occurs. Apparently, I'm not the only one having issues with this game; if someone has a solution?
PC Config: Vista 64 bit Pro, Phenom 9500 4 core 2.2GHz, 2*ATI HD3850 256MB in crossfire, 2GB of RAM

Configuration: Windows Vista Flock 1.2.6

You go to the installation folder of GTA IV, right-click on "LaunchGTAIV.exe", go to compatibility and set it to "Windows 2000", then apply and click OK.

Bonjour à tout le monde, je voudrais savoir quand sortira le nouveau patch de GTA 4 et comment installer un patch (merci de me dire le site). L'installation a été bien réussie (je me suis déjà inscrit à Rockstar Games Social Club). Pouvez-vous me dire ce qu'il faut faire après avoir installé GTA et après avoir été inscrit à Rockstar Games Social Club ? Parce que quand le jeu démarre, il y a écrit 5 secondes plus tard : "Erreur fatale de GTA" et après le jeu s'éteint. Merci de me dire la réponse au plus vite parce que j'ai envie de jouer, ça fous le bourdon, j'ai dépensé 50 euros. Merci =)

More seriously, I'm facing the same sudden issue but only when I connect to the game's cyber café. Reinstalling/repairing patches and the game, updating DirectX and graphics card drivers haven't helped. It's about time a new patch arrives!

The RMN40 error I had as well; it means you need to install the "service pack 3" for Windows XP, because apparently you only have service pack 2.

Hello, I also had the same error. I managed to get out of it by reinstalling my system, and GTA 4 worked, but when I shut down GTA 4 and restarted it, I got a fatal error RMN40. So I reinstalled the system and installed everything properly with the updates and the 6 or 7 patches, and since then it has been working.
(And also, if you want to get the patches, write "patch for GTA 4.")

Buy a machine to clean games or CDs, it does the job and repairs the CD in 10 minutes. It costs between $30 and $50 at Future Shop, Bureau en Gros... It's the size of 10cm in length by 12.5cm in width. Buy it, it's barely worth it.
