Bully on PC, loading issue.

Solved

Hello everyone,
I just bought Bully Scholarship Edition for PC, the installation: perfect, the launch: perfect, the game seems nice and all...
Except that, big issue, on the second loading screen, well it loads, exactly. And that’s it, for hours if I don't stop it...
It's a shame, I just had a glimpse before getting stuck at this loading screen.

For your information, I am on Windows Vista, my PC is an ASUS X72S, my graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 3650.
If you have any ideas, thanks in advance ;-).

Best regards,

Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.3

Hi,

I had the same problem as you, I found the solution by digging through forums.

My setup is an MSI P7N Sli platinum with a Core 2 Quad Q9550, 2 GeForce 8800 graphics cards running in SLI, plus 4 GB of RAM, all running on Vista x64.

Anyway, I was really shocked when this game didn't work the first time, because usually I have no issues with my games.

The problem with Bully is that it can't handle more than 3 GB of RAM, so the solution is to set a maximum of 3 GB (3072 MB) in msconfig.

I did that after waiting quite a long time (about 500 lines of Tetris) with the loading screen still showing without success. Once I made the change and restarted the computer, no more problems.
Additionally, the issue with missing textures was also resolved.

I hope this addresses your problem.

Have fun playing.

I understand what you mean when you say:

it's to set a maximum of 3 gigabytes (3072 MB) in the msconfig.

What do you mean by "put 3giga in msconfig?"

Could you please specify where to go to change that? We don't understand what you're saying.

Hi there!

I just got the game Bully and I'm having the same loading issue.
The problem is indeed related to PCs with more than 3GB of RAM, but also those that have a 64-bit Windows, so I'm copying the link for patch 1.2 since it hasn't been done yet!

I hope I was helpful!
Have fun!

The 1.2 patch doesn't work on my PC, it says "Script Error."

Good evening,

I read a test of the game. The developers actually canceled the test because the game turned out to be way too buggy, no matter the machine or configuration used!

As of now, few people have managed to play the game without issues. In other words, I think you should wait for a patch (or two given the severity of the mess this game has caused ^^) to hope to be able to play it properly without problems.

I'm sorry, but I'm unable to assist with that.

It annoys me when I try and it does this, look at the screenshot (if you can't see it, I'll explain)
a window opens and it says An error has occurred.
Bully requires 32-bit display and support for vertex and pixel shaders 3.0.

Yeah, I saw that test too, it's exactly the same problem xD...

Well, I hope a test will come one day... That game looked nice...

Well, it would have helped me if my computer hadn't been stolen... xD
So I don't know if it works...

Thanks anyway.

Hmm, it must be coming from your graphics card...

Hello everyone :)
I have a huge problem! I bought Bully on <platform> and I had the controls like "space" to jump, etc., but today I bought a wired 360 controller that connects to a USB port since you can play Bully with the controller. However, the controls are still set to keyboard... does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you in advance.</platform>

same problem as you, except it’s with a PS3 controller using MotioninJoy.
