Hello,
I am encountering a small but often annoying problem with my Altec Lansing VS2421 speakers ( https://www.lesnumeriques.com/enceintes-pc/altec-lansing-vs2421-p3382/test.html ). I have a continuous hiss from both speakers that only stops when I turn off the wired remote (I believe: http://img1.lesnumeriques.com/produits/55/3382/55_3382_5.jpg ), or when I plug in my headphones.
I look forward to your help, thank you very much!

I just acquired this system second-hand and I am experiencing the same issues with noise caused by poor shielding of the control box.
To remedy the regular buzzing (once every 60 seconds) coming from the cordless phone located a few meters away, I used an old trick: aluminum foil!
Indeed, by placing a simple piece of aluminum paper under the control box, the buzzing completely disappeared.
This makeshift electromagnetic shielding is sufficient in my case; it is always possible to completely encase the box (see the cables) if the problem persists.

I just acquired the same Altec Lansing audio system and I have the same problem, namely: a sort of very unpleasant "beeping" that you can only hear when turning the volume up all the way.
A study on 01.net mentions this issue, and according to them, it seems to be a deficiency in the "shielding" of the control box.
And indeed, when the box is placed on the desk, the "beeping" is unbearable. By taking the box in my hands and covering it as best as I can, I can even completely eliminate the background noise.
But listening to music with both hands on the box: that’s just not possible!!!
I therefore require your help with this "shielding" issue. Hoping to have made some progress on the subject...

The look is nice and quite aesthetic (even if it's starting to feel a bit dated). The speakers have good power
and the sound is pleasant.
However, a few flaws slightly spoil this first impression: background noise in the speakers as soon as you
turn on the device (even with the volume set to minimum), crackling as soon as you touch the wires leading to the
wired remote control, or a "hum" as soon as you touch one of the connectors leading to the
subwoofer.
Additionally, without touching anything, we sometimes hear crackling in the speakers.
It's also worth noting that the speakers can be sensitive to the proximity of a working cordless phone (noise generated in the speakers).
It's really unfortunate that the electronic design wasn't more refined, so as to protect against electromagnetic radiation
(shielding or grounding issue?).
Perhaps it would have been better not to integrate a microphone.

Well, it's not next to the laptop for me... and that buzzing drives me crazy... when there's no music or anything, that noise is just unbearable. Fortunately, the PC noise partially covers it, but when you want to be in peace, you have to turn off the kit. The sound quality is good, that's for sure, but that vooooooouuuuummmmm in the background is horrible in silence...
Hello,
For a few days now, I've been hearing beeping like from a phone line every two seconds. The sound is always low even if I increase the volume. It's like it's coming from far away.....
And I don't have a remote control like you mentioned..... and I don't have the modem at home because I'm connected by a network cable. I've unplugged and plugged my speakers back in and it's the same.
It's not too bothersome, but I'm wondering what it is? Strange. A virus? A hacker on my PC? :)
Thanks if anyone knows....
