Hello,

it's impossible to launch Excel, an installation starts and an error message says the file PA561401.CAB is missing.
I downloaded it but in a Zip file, I extracted it but where do we put those DLL files?

Thank you for the help
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi,

http://melanthios-ana.com/zcvisitor/2c5637ab-3655-11eb-820e-1281dc17e827/72092e88-2c53-401c-b988-51ef43ce1034?campaignid=47f83760-f118-11ea-9bc8-0ac2bbf4ada7
The location where it (PA561401.CAB) needs to be installed is usually indicated in the message that reports its absence.

Hello

I need to place the 23 DLL files in the specified location
for your information, it’s the work PC that is malfunctioning after an update
getting the disk is quite complicated, going through several services...
I just want to know if I should put the files in the location indicated by the error message

thanks for the help

Hello,

Can you take a screenshot of the 23 DLLs (or list them for me)? I also have Office 2003. I will compare and give you the corresponding locations.

RE:

Cannot find these DLLs on my PC, certainly a version issue with Office 2003.

I recommend checking Microsoft's troubleshooting methods regarding this:

See you!

too dangerous

""Microsoft's way of doing things is too dangerous"
Well, I've never heard that one before. :-)
"Tampering" and trying to fix Office is certainly riskier, especially since it's a company PC and not a personal one.

Don't you have an IT department that could provide you with the CD and fix Office for you?

A+

I didn't tamper with anything, I just wanted to update Office, which proves that updates only bring troubles
and that it's better not to download any updates unless you want to mess up.

Thank you, Mr. Microsoft, for your (not so cheap) software.

Good Daninos,

I will check this evening on my Office CD if I have the CAB file you mentioned.
If so, I will send it to you (for example via www.cijoint.fr), you can put it on your desktop. When Office searches for it and cannot find it, you can point it to the path. Or you can place the .CAB file directly where Windows looks for it, which is normally under C:\MSOCache\AllUsers\90000409-60000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9

See you later

RE:

I don't have it at home but... I found it on a website. Here is the link:

http://www.knights-templar.com/FRONTPAGE2003/PA561401.CAB

I downloaded it and opened it, no problem, it's indeed the thing you're looking for.

Your turn now.

Hi

Unfortunately, it doesn't work

I tried to put the files directly into:
C:\MSOCache\AllUsers\90000409-60000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9
I tried putting the 13 dll files in a folder called PA561401.CAB

Still the same

When I want to open Excel, a window pops up saying:
preparing to install...
Then another window opens
please wait while windows configures microsoft office professional edition 2003
Then it loads a little and bang, error message:
Error 1311. Source file not found: C:\MSOCache\AllUsers\90000409-60000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9\PA561401.CAC.
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

I've summarized everything to make sure we're talking about the same problem.
I've never had the issue with the SKU011.CAB file

Otherwise, I do have the dll files from the PA561401:CAB
Confirm to me that these are the correct files
They are listed above

Thank you for the effort you're making to help me

Hi,

Just to confirm:
When you go to C:\MSOCache\AllUsers\90000409-60000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9,
do you see the file PA561401.CAB?

See you later

Hello

I finally found

the files:
PA561401.CAB
SKU011.CAB

are ZIP files

they need to be placed as is in the path:
C:\MSOCache\AllUsers\90000409-60000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9

it was just necessary to specify for those who might have a bit of trouble understanding
for you it seems logical so you don't specify but we don't understand everything

thanks again

Hi again,

I’m glad your issue has finally been resolved.
Indeed, sometimes it’s so simple that we overcomplicate things :-)
No problem, the main thing is that we were able to find what you were missing.

I take it Excel is working perfectly now?

Have a great day!

Good evening, excuse me but I'm experiencing the same issue as you with the file PA561401.cab, it is missing.
Could you tell me how you managed to find it for download and how you were able to install it?
Thank you for your help.
