Hello,
I bought an elm 327 after some USB port issues and I managed to get it recognized.
Now it says "no connection to the ECU"
I have a C3, if someone could give me a hand because I'm really struggling...

Hello, I bought an ELM 327 USB and it asks me to register a key number. Where can I find this key????

LOL yes, generally it's better, but that's not the problem because yes, it is connected, so I'll explain again.
I'm using a laptop, I installed scantool 1.13, connected an elm327 and plugged everything into the diagnostic socket of my Citroën C3.
At first, there was no communication between the PC and elm327, I had to reinstall the USB port drivers, so that's okay now, but now it's telling me that I don't have a connection with the ECU, but my socket is properly connected because the elm327 is powered at 12V by this socket.
So that's my issue.

I just bought the interface with the mini CD on an online auction site, indeed no access to the vehicle's ECU while the interface is recognized, it needs to be set to 38200 baud as mentioned and not 9600, but I believe it comes from the year of the vehicle, OBD2 is only mandatory in Europe after 2002 so my car is from 1998 so it’s probably OBD1 since it still has the diagnostic socket. I'm still in contact with the seller from China sending messages to cancel the purchase and I'll keep you updated. I'm going to try it on my Mégane 2 but I haven’t found the diagnostic socket, so if anyone knows where it is, please send me a private message urgently. It works best on XP, like many programs. It's definitely lighter than Vista. Stay on XP or use the second partition of your laptop to install XP.
You need to connect the ELM327 to the vehicle and everything will be back to normal. Bye bye and see you soon.

SOS, I just bought the ELM 327, I plugged it in and it detected everything except one minute later my computer burned out. Is there a special computer for this because mine?

Kacem, hi, I bought an ELM 327 USB. Otherwise, I would say it's worth it, the scan tool software for Optra 2006 and 206 1.1. Since I can turn off the check engine light and read and clear error codes, I advise you, dear friends, to buy the original ELM 327 product.
