Hello,
I recently got a Tomtom GO 930 which only had the North America map available.
For Western and Central Europe, I get the message "This item cannot be used on this device because it must first be activated."
I tried to activate this product but cannot find the necessary codes.
Thinking that a lack of space was causing my problem, I uninstalled North America.
Since then, and it seems logical, my GPS tells me "no map available."
This is a purchase made on Rue du Commerce, so it is perfectly legal.
I just want to activate this "pxtxix" map.
I went on a Tomtom forum where they told me to activate this item, but without the codes, I don't know how to proceed.
If someone could come to my rescue, I would be forever grateful.
Cheers, Al, and thanks in advance for your help.

For those interested.
To activate the maps under TomTom 7, you need to create two files: a meta file and a dct file. These files are created using a small executable file and the activation code found in the ttnavigator.bif file at the line DeviceUniqueID=***** ***** of the PDA. Once these files are created, they need to be integrated into the map folders. -

Hello
It needs to be brought back, it is still guaranteed
In Tomtom, each map is coded onto a non-accessible file and corresponds to the coding of your device -
Hi, still in trouble with TomTom and its Western map?
When you turn on TomTom, you choose settings, change map, select Western...;
TomTom will tell you that to use this map, you need to activate it.
By selecting yes or now, it reminds you of your hardware code made up of 10 characters, take good note of it and come back, we'll probably say more about it.... -

Hello Steeman,
I'm honestly struggling! After foolishly formatting my HTC Cruise and despite your explanations on the forum, I can no longer activate my TomTom using the device code, which is as follows AB8HE BDYPN.
If you have a couple of minutes to spare, that would be really cool... that way I can stop banging my head against the wall!! :)
Thanks! -

Hello Steenman
Could you activate a Western Europe card 815.2024 and an Italy card for TT Rider V 7 901 - AK7SG AACSN? It would be very helpful before a motorcycle trip to Italy in a few weeks.
Thank you. -
There is no choice to select the map when the Tomtom starts up; so far, there has only been North America.
Thinking it might be a storage issue, I deleted North America.
When I check what’s on the device, I get the message "This item (Western and Central Europe) cannot be used on this device because it must first be activated."
I’m still stuck because I don’t know which code to use...
It seems silly, but that’s how it is, and "it’s seriously starting to annoy me."
I’m listening to you

Hello Steeman,
after posting my email, I found a small DOS program that gives me the codes.
I tried it and it worked.
So I managed to activate my TT Go 300.
Thanks anyway for your help.
By the way, I have another question:
I have a double din car radio with a 7" screen that comes from China. I received it with a 2 Gb SD card with Route 66 and a 2 Gb SD card with TomTom version 6.0.
I would like to know if you know a way to upgrade the TomTom version?
Actually, I want to install the new version on a 2 Gb SD card with the Europe map and put it in the car radio so that it works, but I don't know how to install TomTom on an SD card.
P.S.: From the car radio, I don't know how to install? So I don't know the procedure to follow.
Thank you. -
And the codes I posted, did it work?
The simplest thing would be to duplicate your memory card.
To upgrade Tom, the only trick I know would be to install Tom 7 over it. Be sure to back up your card.
Basically, you take a card, format it to FAT32, install Tom 7, copy the card you want to the root of the memory card. Of course, you will need the activation codes for Tom 7 as well as the one for the card for Tom 7 depending on your hardware code.
