sfr number not assigned

Question

Hello,

I am an SFR customer, and I sometimes find that when I try to contact one of my contacts, I get the response "The number you are trying to reach is not assigned, please check the directory service...".

I try several times in a row and finally manage to get through to my correspondent whose line is still valid and who has no payment issues or anything like that. This correspondent also told me that one of his friends who tried to reach him ended up getting a completely different person.

Additionally, one of my friends also told me that he had encountered the "number not assigned" problem when trying to reach me.

Could you please let me know if this is happening to other people as well and what might be the cause? Is there a solution or is it just that SFR is poorly managing its network?

Hello everyone,

I don't have an answer to this, but I am an SFR customer and I have exactly the same problem. For several nights now, I am being called on my mobile (how ironic) to say that they can't reach me. However, I can make calls.
I just have to turn off the box and it works again... but all the lights are green when it doesn't work.
It's becoming annoying... maybe I should switch to Orange.

ME TOO, people cannot reach me even though I can easily make calls using the phone connected to my Neuf/SFR box. I would like to point out that I am in a non-splittable zone. Thank you!

Recently, I sometimes go directly to voicemail even though I am reachable and have good network reception. As for outgoing calls, they get cut off during dialing, even to voicemail. I want to clarify that I have no payment issues or anything like that, so no delinquencies. In fact, by insisting several times (at least 5 or 6), I manage to reach my contact or voicemail.

I think SFR has serious problems with their network... It seems they had an issue about a month ago where some of their customers lost network coverage for an entire day.

It seems that things aren't improving much...

Just the same! Except that they can never reach me on the landline! They made me change the transformer, then the box, still the same. Next week, goodbye SFR and hello Free. Tired of being ripped off with their crappy customer service at 15 cents/minute.

For a few months now, I've also had this problem very often with SFR: When someone calls me, they get the message "Number not assigned." My mother has it too... apparently, a lot of people are affected.
On the other hand, I've still received sales calls for mobile telephony. I might as well say that I'm not ready to subscribe with them if a simple service like the landline doesn't work properly!

So... no one has an answer?
For me, it's a different case; it's when I call a 09 number from a DartyBox using my SFR landline that I'm told the number is not assigned! Yet I call just 2 seconds later with my mobile and it works!!!

Could there be incompatibilities between certain landline telephone operators???

I am in Nîmes. I've been having this problem since this afternoon: some landlines seem to be unassigned. It’s a shame because I had some urgent and important calls to make before the July 14 holiday - it's dead. My mobile and my landline (both SFR) are experiencing the same glitch. Earlier, I called a number, which I only managed to get through after several attempts, and we were cut off in the middle of the conversation, and since then I can't call them back using that number, whether on landline or mobile (but other numbers work). I’m trying to call an administration, and it’s not going through, unassigned. I had an online chat with an SFR technician via the customer area, and he’s incompetent. After I pointed out that he didn’t handle landlines, he suggested I restart my mobile, then try again tomorrow. I asked him if the fact that it wasn’t working on the landline too didn’t indicate a more general problem, and he replied that if the problem persisted, I could try my SIM card in another phone. I doubt that changing operators would be a solution: I’ve already switched several times, they’re all liars (who don’t want to admit that they have technical flaws) and incompetent.
