Logiciel SE

Hello,
for a few days now, Windows has been trying to make me install an update that should be named (if I correctly caught the name amidst the jumble of agreements I must accept...) "SE software".
I've read and reread, but I have no idea what its role is. The Windows catalog on my computer doesn't know anything more.
Who might have information about this? (I haven't installed it yet.)
Thank you very much!
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

You search for "SE software" on Google or preferably "logiciel SE" and if it exists, it will find it.

    See you!

The log.hijackthis will serve to help identify and analyze potential malware infections on your system by logging various system and browser settings, which can then be reviewed for suspicious entries.

    Re Kikimoi,

Thank you for the helpers (I'm not one of them, but there were really too few elements in your topic to move forward, and that's why I sent you these two responses)!

    So you say:
for the past few days, Windows has been trying to get me to install an update that should be named (if I caught the name correctly amidst the mess of agreements I have to accept...) "software SE".
Could you possibly go back to that screen that Windows is sending you and make a copy to post here?
Tutorial for taking a screenshot: http://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/sujet 5606 show a screenshot

As for me, I thought that "software SE" would only apply to Windows 98...

I repeat: I am not a helper, so if you don't get a response within 24 hours (it's not that urgent after all!), please do a bump.
On the other hand, if Windows is prompting you to update your XP, you must first be sure that the product currently installed on your machine was legally installed!

PS: Is this the very first time that Windows Update has prompted you for an update (hence their request for agreements)?

Thank you, CCMclaude, but I need a translation for "make a UP." ...

"Would it be possible for you to re-access this screen": no! I tried to re-read their "long text" and attempt to understand something, but in vain. I'll have to wait for them to propose this update to me again.
I admit that when I made my help request, I thought others would have already received this update and could tell me more about it...

that the product currently installed on your machine was legally installed!: yes, originally.
Is this the very first time that Windows Update is asking you for an update (hence their request for commitments)?: no, but usually I just click on the bubble and it installs without any further ado....

Now, it's true that I plan to survive without this update, but it is frustrating to see that they ask for commitments without bothering to tell you what advantage you will gain from it! (see my "rampage" in "Café Noir")!

    Re, Kikimoi !
Doing a UP means temporarily bringing your topic to the top of the list by sending a new post: only use this feature wisely and sparingly, or it could become very irritating!
I advise you - besides reading the charter, if you haven't already - to take a look here: http://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/sujet 9950 my message has not received any response ...
Once you've read that, you can already go back to your topic in the Café noir (and set its status to "resolved" if you think it is)!!!

"" the black coffee (and set its status to "resolved" if you think it's the case) !!! "Hhuummm? is a "gripe" ever resolved?

As I said above, if the problem is not resolved, I will survive (and my computer too, I hope!)

" wisely and sparingly ": that reminds me of a funny story (but this is not the place...)

"The grandpas always resist! " and some sheep roar their bleats!
    Thank you greatly, Grandpa !"

You're right, but if by the greatest chance, a satisfactory answer were given to you in French by Billy the Kid's team, then you could green the black coffee! Who knows!

    Hello Kikimoi,

I poked a bit at Google with these two search keys: "windows XP" and "software OS".
Check out what I caught in this URL: is this what you were referring to? If so, you have the answer.
    Happy reading!

"<i>Is this what you were referring to?</i>" Yes, I recognize the document ...and no, because even when rereading it carefully and attentively, I am unable to know what these additional software will be used for ME: it seems that they will mainly serve Microsoft, right? <br /> In any case, thank you very much, Grandpa!

Your HijackThis log is clean, but I find that you have quite a few Wanadoo and France Tel processes running. That's bogging you down.

Being still a novice, I would really need additional explanations, orb42! You seem to be saying that certain Wanadoo and France Télécom processes would be unnecessary: how can I tell? For France Télécom, I specify that I am not unbundled.
      Thank you very much.
