RJ45 socket wiring for 2-wire cable

Hello,

My question may have already been addressed... sorry if that’s the case.

I’m renovating my apartment and I’ve been advised to install an RJ45 phone socket that meets current standards.
However, the incoming cable from France Telecom is old and only has two wires. I know that on T sockets I need to connect them to 1 and 3, but for RJ45 sockets, I don’t know how to proceed.

So my questions are:
- Can you connect an RJ45 socket to a 2-wire FT cable?
- If so, how do you make the connection?

Thank you all in advance.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Yes, you can if you use pins 4 and 5 of your RJ45, which correspond to the blue pair, blue-white.
