Hello,
I play at home using a SCART connection.
I played at a friend's place on his plasma using HDMI, and now back at home, connected via SCART, there's no image. I can't access the console menus, what should I do?

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

When starting the console, press and hold the tactile POWER button continuously for 5 seconds until you hear a second beep, and like magic, it works, and it's in 576p resolution.

For those who are still tearing their hair out because they don't hear the second beep, let me clarify the process:

PlayStation on standby (red light), press and hold your finger on the power button. There are therefore 2 beeps, the first is the one for turning on, the second restores the resolution of the PS3.

You should not press on once but only once. That might be where the issue lies for those who still can't get it to work.

  My PS3 has this issue, but the suggested manipulation doesn't work on my PS3. When I do the manipulation, there is indeed an image, but instead of being the home screen image, it's some sort of line.

I thank God for your answer, my friend! I borrowed my brother-in-law's PS3, I played it in HD at my place, and when I returned it, it didn't work for him when connected via the SCART cable!!! He thought I broke it!!!

  You need to wait 5 seconds when starting the console, so the red button turns green, and you have to wait until the second beep!!!! I have a 250GB slim, and it works. Thanks to the guy who explained this above!!!

When starting the console, you need to press and hold the POWER touch button for 5 seconds until you hear a second beep, and that will work; the default resolution is 576p.

If that doesn't work, check the quality of your cable. You can find very good ones on sites like ldlc.com or http://www.cable-hdmi.eu.

I haven't had any issues with the one purchased from cable-hdmi.eu on my PlayStation 3.
