Decimal separator in Google Docs

Hello,
In Google Sheets set to French, it is impossible to use the decimal point from the numeric keypad as a decimal separator: you have to use the comma ','. If I type 4.5 on the keypad, I get 04/05/2008 instead! Is there a way (other than switching back to English mode) to use the numeric keypad because I have quite a bit of data to enter, and it's more convenient to stay on the keypad!
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.1

    In file > spreadsheet settings

Just select Switzerland, so the point will be used as the decimal separator, and it remains in French (spelling), along with the correct time zone.

      Hello,
If your cells contain dates, you need to first convert them to plain text; otherwise, the dates will be translated into German. ( Format --> Number --> Plain Text (instead of Automatic).
