SD card inserted upside down!!!!

Hello,
my 9-year-old son wanted to put the SD card back in the camera and inserted it the wrong way (forcing it, of course)!!!
Since then, my camera won't turn on at all. Is there any chance it will work again, or has he caused some sort of short circuit? 
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

    Well, you should contact the customer service where you bought this device... Hopefully, it's repairable, and you won't have to pay much.

      I'll take a look at it, the problem is that it's his grandmother's device and it's already quite old....
      I think I'm going to have to buy a new one......
