Yes, you're right, but I'm in Morocco and they tell me that the car is in France and the owner is in Benin. But it's easy to know the good from the bad; you just have to use another address or say that you live in France, in the same city where the car is located, to find out if they are scammers or not.

Hello, your idea is great!!! Because I tried to post an ad on J'annonce and it only stayed on the site for a few hours. Those few hours were enough for several people to send me emails about the scams they had all fallen victim to. One for a dog (offering my chihuahua...), others for a motorcycle, a quad, a tractor, a horse... and yes, they are everywhere. (These people who got scammed all sent between 150 and 600 euros for so-called transportation fees.) I contacted the newspaper and Mrs. X replied that she couldn't do anything (I suppose she couldn't delete the scammers' ads, but mine, which simply warned people, was indeed removed). As for the little note at the top of each page in red that we talked about, it's still not there!!!

I realized it when I noticed that the French was pathetic. And also almost free.
You should also know that 1000 € in Belgium/France/... is worth 10 times more in Africa, so it's definitely a scam.

Personally, I didn't receive any more threats afterward, but you have to be careful. It's pathetic that they don't remove ads like that when they're reported more than once (the problem is that they use a false country number to hide that it's in Africa).

I just came across the same scam for an agricultural tractor, I'm not born yesterday even though it doesn't rain often in Benin.

Saw the forum "en passant".. Goodness! I didn't imagine so many "trapped"! Proof that they are right to continue!
It's not "currently" that there are these kinds of scams and not just on cars!
EVERYTHING IS GOOD... (dogs, horses, cars, motorcycles, etc..)
The method is simple.
1) They exploit free ad websites
2) They copy photos from other sites (real sellers) the most beautiful ones to lure (even if it means getting the breed wrong when it comes to animals)
3) They offer Donation or free and as soon as you contact them, they position themselves as victims of fate, "abroad" and "forced to part" for any reason...
4) Shipping/customs fees come just after "when you are well engaged = hooked"
It is NO LONGER free, but still.. you tell yourself: at a lower cost, given "the beauty" or "the value" of "the object", it's a bargain...
5) Unfortunately, NO MATTER what you pay, YOU will NEVER see a dime!! IT'S NON-EXISTENT!
Read ads/setbacks, and you can easily imagine the number of "pigeons" = VERY profitable for them
+ You will have no recourse!
Conclusions: Watch out for DONATIONS "on valuable products" (Don't dream, nothing is free in life!)
and CUT SHORT as soon as they are situated "abroad".

There are people from Ivory Coast who buy everything you sell, but with increasingly high fees to be paid via Western Union. They are first-class scammers because your money is lost and no sales or purchases will be made. Do not let yourself be fooled by these unscrupulous internet pirates. See you later.
