Image Mixer for MAC

Hello,

I bought a FS100 camcorder that came with the IMAGE MIXER software, but for PC. Does anyone have a solution to install it on a Mac Book Pro? I don't understand why they don't give the option when purchasing! Is there a way to obtain the Mac version of this software from the supplier? Thank you for responding to this post. Have a nice day.

it seems that you need to have iLife08

You have to buy it for €74, they are crooks. On PC, this software makes crappy DVDs with cuts and cracks, but it handles Dolby 5.1 perfectly.

Hi, I'm a bit late, I hope you can read my message.
I just bought the FS10 and indeed I can't transfer my videos to my MacBook!!!
Are you sure it works with iLife?? Have you tried?

Thank you very much.

I have the same problem with my MacBook Pro and my FS10, but it works fine on iMovie (iLife08), from there you can read them on your Mac, but not on Final Cut Express, it's really frustrating!

Hey kid,
I tried transferring my videos to iMovie, but when I connect my FS10, it doesn't recognize it!! How do you get your Mac to recognize it? If you tell me it works, then it must be possible. Are you bypassing the normal method?
Thanks for explaining how you do it, if possible.

You connect your FS10 to a MacBook Pro or just a SD card via the USB adapter, and you launch iMovie (iLife '08) and normally it will detect it; it works for me.

Well, listen, it's great. It works perfectly. In fact, I didn't know it needed to be plugged into the mains!!! It seems a bit absurd to have to do that, but anyway. I'm happy. Thanks again!!!

It's clear, all this to watch a video, it's really stupid!

Same problem with my FS100 and my MacBook, it's really outrageous!

The worst part is that it's not written anywhere on the packaging, really thieves!

For your information, on the Pixela site (the software publisher), it is possible to download the Mac version. I believe this is recent, no longer updating the Windows version.

Yes, it's possible on the Pixela site, but it costs 89 euros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's outrageous!!!!
I'm outraged, this is ridiculous. I bought my Legria R106 camcorder for 319 euros and I can't retrieve my videos on Mac!!! It's unbelievable.

If anyone has managed to recover the software for free, please share the info or upload it online. Buying it for Mac while it's provided for free for PC (which is the least they could do) is purely scandalous!!!!!!

Not happy, to say the least, I have the same problem with a LEGRIA HF 21 camera that I bought for €720.
CANON automatically provides Pixela for Windows without caring whether we have a MAC, and I have a MAC OS X version 10.6.6.
This morning I made a ton of phone calls that sent me to Holland, who then forwarded me another support number in England, who themselves referred me to another number, which was incorrect, and I ended up talking to a grandfather on the other side of the world. So I called the first number again (the one from Holland), only to be told that I needed to contact Pixela by email, which I just did; they obviously replied in English, I don't speak English, they can't even manage to have translators, so I understood that my email didn't reach the right place, even though I selected the email address from the PIXELA website. I was simply asking if they could please send me the correct PIXELA CDs for MAC.
I’m at the same point as all of you.
This is a scam, I don't understand why CANON plays this game and has this kind of partnership... as mentioned in the forum, why is Pixela free for Windows and not for MAC.

If anyone has a solution, it would be welcome.

I plan to switch to Mac very soon. Frankly, at this price, I recommend partitioning your Mac hard drive and installing some version of Windows (it's possible) so you can take advantage of the ImageMixer CD that comes free with the camcorder. I will consider this solution and that's why I'm sharing it with you! Thank you!
