Impossible de charger le profil utilisateur Vista

I currently have the same issue as you with Vista Home Premium edition; it does not allow me to access my two sessions, and safe mode is of no use to me.
I have attempted to perform a good ten system restorations on different dates, but I keep getting an error message stating that the specified path cannot be found. Fortunately, I had installed Ubuntu, which allows me to post this message today.
Changing the password: negative
System restoration: negative
Opening another session: negative

All I have left is to format; I see no other solution.
Oh, there is one more thing: finding the brilliant inventor of this absolutely terrible operating system that consumes all my PC's RAM because it decides on its own to launch numerous applications, so that I can make him eat from the opposite side of his head until he gives me back my year of photos and important documents for my work.
He better pray that I never cross paths with him.

Same problem after finishing DVD playback on an ACER laptop via ACER ARCADE DELUXE (Playback IMPECCABLE!): I could only turn it off by holding the POWER BUTTON for 4 seconds, THEN having tried everything usual and less common during the successive restarts/forced shutdowns for at least 4 hours (ACER is tough!): Unplugging the power/Removing battery/Accepting the automatically suggested "chkdsk" after loading VISTA/Accepting "Restore to an automatic VISTA restore point" when screens appear automatically before loading VISTA (which has never worked when I tried to do it within my session!?)/Accepting "Automatic repair of my system" during those same screens ---> I could only get to the User Session homepage: It was just hanging there afterwards!?!?
Finally: F8 on startup/Safe mode to my session/Enter OK but rudimentary inside/Restarting without touching anything/Home User Page/"Installing your Desktop"!?!?!? ---> Enter session OK but with an appearance as if I had just installed VISTA & with a notice saying that my user profile has disappeared!?
Since my old age has made me patient: I took a complete tour of MY SESSION (yes, it’s really mine with all my data: just go to BOOT\Users\YOUR USER NAME) but it doesn’t have my settings (my User Profile)!?!? & the changes I make evaporate upon the next restart (as specified in the previously mentioned entry notice for the session)!
Having a 2nd ACER that works, I am waiting while thinking to avoid a Factory Restore with all the work that would entail!

The first one to find the solution is a BOSS (or a BOSS LADY!)

PS: WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER no longer works 15 seconds after opening, & "WORD is searching for viruses" upon opening and then stops working!? Finally, NORTON INTERNET SECURITY works automatically, but I no longer have access to it!?

Hello, I had the same problem on Windows 7 with a HP Pavilion DV6 laptop. After several unsuccessful attempts, I finally entered the computer's setup (press ESC during startup), I chose the F11 menu and actually initiated a restore to a point before I had the problem. After the system restore (none of the data files, images, or others were lost), I restarted the PC and was able to use the "Administrator" profile with the password as usual.

We have the same type of problem at home.
We have a Packard Bell with Windows Vista Home Basic edition. And we no longer have access to our user account;

We removed the password via safe mode but it didn't help!
I read in your comments that a number of problems have been solved by restoring the system;
Could you please explain to me how to proceed?

P.S.: We are both terrible with computers; the most detailed explanations would be welcome :-(

Similar problem, except that by restarting it several times, I can still log into my account, but it's frustrating... I have the programs installed, internet access, but as for my favorites, settings, and folders (music, images, etc.), I have nothing left...
