problem with DirectX and CAB file Solved/Closed

I'll explain my problem: I installed a demo for a game (So Blonde in case someone has encountered this issue with this demo)
Everything went smoothly until I reached the installation or update of DirectX, when I got this message:
"A required CAB archive for the installation cannot be approved. Please check that the cryptographic services are enabled and that the CAB file's certificate is valid."

I checked my services as it suggested and in the service properties, the startup type is automatic and the service status is running.

And it still doesn't work. The game launches but I’m missing characters that are supposed to be present. The surrounding landscape is clear, so I don't think this could be an issue with my graphics card.

Anyway, I don't know what to do anymore. Thank you for your help.

Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.14

I had the same problem too, and I have a solution to propose: delete the folder directx that is located in system32 because the CAB archive that causes the issue is part of it.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DirectX
It worked for me.

I've got The Sims 3: Ambitions, it works but it takes way too long. I thought about installing DirectX 10 or 11, I have Windows Vista and an ATI Radeon X1250 graphics card. Anyway, I'm getting the same message about the CAB archive and all that. So how do I install DirectX?

Hello everyone,
I wanted to update my DirectX two days ago to better enjoy my games. But during the installation phase of the components, it doesn't start and this error message appears:
"A required CAB archive for installation cannot be validated. Please check that the Cryptographic Services are enabled and that the CAB file certificate is valid."
If someone could explain to me how to fix this problem
and let me know where to find this CAB archive that it's referring to please.

Same personal problem, I can't find the cryptography service in the services as it is explained in your link, I've searched everywhere on my pc and can't find it.....if someone has an idea, I'm all ears :)

It's easy to solve the problem: you need to change the graphics card, otherwise go to Windows Update and update DirectX, and there you go, the games will work ;D

Change the graphics card? Uh, I don't think so, because I'm having the same issue. My card is new and it's the Titan from Nvidia, so let's just say it's out of the question to pay something like €1000 to change it --'

No no, it’s not the graphics card, there’s no problem on that front... My PC with a Geforce GTX 660 ran it without issue, but now that I've rebooted it, it doesn't work anymore, no trace of the folder in the Windows folder... I’ve installed plenty of different versions, still nothing, but what I know is that it’s not the GPU... ;)
