Hello,
my computer stubbornly (and very meanly) refuses to start and instead tells me: 0200 Failure Fixed disk 0 even before launching Windows....
it smells like bad news when I surf a bit on the forums.... and I can't start the factory restore from my backup CDs, as it throws me an "initialization problem" that cuts the restoration short.
does anyone have a brilliant idea? is it necessarily dead? or can a real expert or customer service do something?
thanks a lot for your reply.

I answer myself, on the IBM site they give the following response:
0200
Fixed Disk Failure The hard drive is not functioning or is not configured correctly. Make sure the hard drive is securely attached. Run the configuration program. Check that the type of hard drive has been correctly identified.
But that doesn't help me too much, because how to check if it's securely attached, if I open it I lose the warranty?
The configuration program ???????????
Correctly identified ???????????
Pffff !!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
