cursor disappears during games... Solved

Question

Good evening, here is my problem  when I launch a game (World of Warcraft, Command and Conquer 3, etc...) my cursor disappears, it only appears when I move, but as soon as I stop my mouse, the cursor disappears  I specify that I don’t have this problem at other times... I can be on the internet, watch videos, with a cursor that is working just fine!!  - I just acquired an NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT and formatted my PC (I have installed the driver and DirectX 9c)  I specify that I have tried with several different mice and the problem is not resolved at all...  So if anyone can help me, thank you in advance =)

Hi, you don't use a specific desktop theme, and/or more specifically CursorXP?

And wouldn't it come from your game? Some games do this specifically to avoid bothering the player when they're not moving their mouse. Check the options, or maybe even the graphics card settings.

Hi,  Graphics card driver issues (incorrect installation/configuration/version) directX (configuration, uninstall/reinstall, try other older or newer versions) or compatibility with your graphics card... Probably not a mouse issue :)  But are you sure it's not a normal reaction? Many games disable the Windows cursor for theirs, or simply to avoid disrupting the game...  See you later  -- cebelab°

Wow, thank you for your super quick replies!!!  So no, I’m not using any particular theme... It’s not my games (before formatting I didn’t have this issue but the games had a cursor that was quite visible ^^)  I reinstalled DirectX  Nothing works, thanks anyway. Any other ideas?

Hum...  Did you not have this issue before formatting? What did you change since then?  Your version of Windows? Or even the service packs? Your graphics card or its driver? Your version of DirectX? Another hardware component?  Otherwise, take a look in the "Performance" tab of the system properties (right-click on "Computer", then "Properties"), and try enabling or disabling some options regarding the cursor...  You can also check the DirectX tools (start menu -> run -> dxdiag) to see if there's anything related to the cursor in the display settings, and test the different options that the tool suggests regarding Direct Draw and all that... You can also look in the "Input" tab of dxdiag to see if there's any issue with your mouse.  Finally, check the device manager (right-click on "Computer" -> properties -> hardware -> device manager) to see if there are any conflicts with your graphics card or input devices...  As a last resort, try reinstalling Windows...  @+  -- cebelab°

YEAH it works!! =D  A big thank you to everyone  I just had to right-click on the desktop, properties / settings / advanced tab / troubleshooting / and then enable full hardware acceleration!!
