Hello,
I have a Brother MCF 8820 D fax printer, and all of a sudden, it prints very poorly or not at all. It is neither the cartridge nor the drum, and I keep getting the error "machine error 78". Does anyone know what is happening? Thank you.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

The instructions are as follows:
1. Plug in and turn on the printer
2. Keep it on but unplug it (do not turn off the switch)
3. Press the "menu" button and plug it back in
4. Wait and dial the code 91
5. Wait and dial the code 99: it should display "maintenance" and return to normal if it works
