Play two-player in The Simpsons Game

I'm with a friend here and we can't play together in Simpsons game on Xbox 360, I don't understand, please help me.

    In fact, it's quite simple, you just have to go into normal mode and have the second controller press start, but this is only possible in levels where there is an objective, not when you're roaming around Springfield.

    On Xbox, I never had the game, but on PS2, all you have to do is press "Start" on the second controller, and a split screen will set up immediately.
