DVD stuck in the device Solved

Question

Hello everyone,

I have a little problem. My DVD (it's a copy in DVD format) is stuck in the DVD recorder (Philips DVDR3450H brand).
I turned on the player, inserted the DVD into the tray. The device doesn't read it. But the most annoying part is that I no longer have control over the player. I can't do anything; I can't turn it off, eject the DVD... nothing at all.
Can someone help me? Thank you all for your assistance.
Hope to see you soon. I'm going to get myself killed if I broke the player.

a bit late but the solution is to lift the device, there is a window (3mm x 20mm) underneath the reader, sometimes covered by a sticker. In this window, there is a white plastic tab that needs to be slid to the left and your reader will open. Once the disc is out, repeat the operation in reverse... Cheers!

And you can open it using the "eject" command by right-clicking on the DVD drive icon in the computer?

Yes Ziggurat, I’m turning it off, but I’m mainly trying to remove the DVD from the device. I knew that by unplugging it, it would turn off.

Hi,

Try to lift the front of your device about 5 cm (not much more) and let it fall back down, then try ejecting your DVD again. If it doesn't work, try again 2 or 3 times.

And when you plug it back in, the DVD compartment doesn't open, by any chance? It's an idea I threw out there without knowing if it would work. I do that when a disc gets stuck while playing.

Since you can't access the DVD by opening it, the only option left is to take it to the repair center, if it's still under warranty, or to a repair technician.

I've never tried to open a DVD player, but I used to salvage VHS tapes that got stuck by operating on my device like open-heart surgery. :-)

I tried to see, but I ended up puncturing that paper

Under the front panel of the DVD player, there is a slot. In the slot, there is a plastic tab; push it all the way to the left and the player will open.
