Hello,
I have been using eMule for quite some time now. But recently, I've encountered a rather annoying problem. When I close eMule, it crashes, and the message "(not responding)" appears next to the application's name. It then becomes impossible to close it. I’ve tried everything I could (task manager/ending the process; taskkill command), but nothing works.
For your information:
_I can restart the computer, but every time I relaunch eMule and want to quit it, the problem returns.
_I recently installed ZoneAlarm, but I don't remember if the issues actually started following that installation.
_I also tried reinstalling eMule (and deleted the eMule folder in C:/Users/.../AppData/Local), but the problem persists.
I’ve browsed through the forums, without really finding any answers...
So there you go, let me know your thoughts.
Have a good day.

Already done... And it doesn't work.
Well, at first it works, but as soon as I configure the ports, the files for upload, etc... the problem comes back.

To be honest, I stopped trying to quit eMule. What I do now is keep it open all the time and just disconnect when I don't need it anymore. Since then, I installed the SP1 for Vista, so maybe that fixed the problem... I don't know.
I’m using eMule right now, and as soon as my downloads are finished, I'll try to quit it and let you know what happens.

Can you give me your configuration so that I can compare it to mine? That is to say, the specifications of your machine, your operating system, your protection software, and any other information that might be useful.
Also, tell me since when you've had this problem and if you have any idea what might have caused this issue.

Vista Sp1 32 bits
zone alarm free
Antivir
firefox 2.0.0.12
and with uTorrent it's the same.
and Tskill doesn't seem to work either.
I just downloaded an eMule patch but it normally has nothing to do with it.

I have exactly the same setup... except that I don't know Tskill and I don't use uTorrent...
Have you tried uninstalling ZA or Antivir?

Same problem...
eMule version 0.50 + Avast 5.0.594 (mentioned just in case...); using the "Exit" item from the system tray = the menu from the eMule icon next to the clock in Windows Vista causes the cursor to go to the top left of the screen and eMule gets stuck afterward; closing eMule from the open program with the red cross at the top right works (...) without crashing everything on me.
Thank you for forwarding...
