* This circular defines the conditions for the use of calculators in examinations and competitions organized by the Ministry of National Education and in recruitment competitions for teaching staff. It annulled and replaced, as of the 2000 session, circular n° 99-018 of February 1, 1999, concerning the use of calculators.

Mastering the use of calculators represents an important objective for the education of all students as it constitutes an effective tool within the framework of their studies and in their professional, economic, and social lives.

This is why their use is intended in many teaching programs and their employment should be largely authorized in examinations and competitions.

* Authorized equipment

Authorized equipment includes all pocket calculators, including programmable, alphanumeric, or graphing calculators, provided that their operation is autonomous and that no printer is used.
