open office .odp to PowerPoint format

Question

Hello,
I'm looking to convert a file in OpenOffice format ".odp" to a PowerPoint format
no matter what I do, I can't manage it
At home I can open the doc (I've downloaded OpenOffice) but I can't even paste the slides into a PowerPoint document! I'm forced to do some tinkering, which is too lengthy given the number of slides
If you have a solution...quick and not too complicated (I'm a novice in computer forums!!!)

I had the same problem that I just solved:

1) Open the .odp file with OpenOffice
2) Save as... with the format "PowerPoint - Template (.pot)"
3) Save as... with the format "PowerPoint - (.ppt)"
4) Delete the file created with the format "PowerPoint - Template (.pot)"
5) The slideshow saved with the format "PowerPoint - (.ppt)" is now usable with PowerPoint

try to open your machin.odp then file>save as>and at the bottom you choose your format

I just did it when I try to open it "cannot open...the file name and its location) same if I go through the document properties and modify, then I cannot open it thank you anyway

yes, I have both at home
but I need to use my Open Office document in .odp format on my work PC which doesn't accept this format (only Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
I can't download software at work, it's blocked...

It would be helpful if you could specify which version of OpenOffice.org you are using and detail what you are doing to save.

To save in a different format, I tried two things:
open the Open Office document, file, save as, and I save by changing the ending '.odp' to '.ppt'
another method I tried, Open Office closed, properties, edit, I choose Power, apply, close
neither of them works

Hello, I myself had the same problem. However, after following your advice, I managed to open my Open Office document with PowerPoint, but unfortunately, there are text elements that appear, with PowerPoint but not Open Office, in the background of my slides and I can't remove them. Do you have a solution? Thank you in advance :)
