Hello, I’m writing to you because I have a problem with my WEP key.
I’m with Numericable, and I want to connect to WIFI on my laptop. My network is secured but the problem lies with my WEP key.
In fact it has 13 characters with digits and letters and is separated by a dash (-).
The problem is that when I enter this combination (e.g. 001B11-8528A8) a window tells me it’s invalid.
So I tried without the dash, but it’s not good either because there are only 12 characters (whereas it needs 13).
I tried replacing the dash with a 0 but that doesn’t work.
In fact, I had secured the network by entering the WEP key about 5-6 months ago and it worked (I don’t remember exactly how I did it regarding the dash), but now I formatted my laptop and so my connection is no longer recognized and I don’t remember how I did it 5-6 months ago when entering my key.
On my girlfriend’s laptop it works, so the modem and the wifi work.
Do you know how I should enter my WEP key? Does the problem come from the dash? What should I replace it with? Any tips?
I’m with Numericable using a D-Link 524 modem. My WEP key is on the back and has 13 characters (Digits+Letters+ a dash).
Please please help me

Hi, I looked at the back of the modem and there are four groups of numbers. Which one should I note?

I can't seem to find it either!!!!! I've tried everything!
Connect with your Ethernet cable to your modem
open your browser and type the following address: http://192.168.0.1/
there you will land on a page where you must enter your login and password
for me at Numericable login: admin pass: password this is for the Netgear
once in your modem you can access your settings and thus have access to your keys or recreate one. there you go.

Having just bought a laptop, I wanted to connect it to the internet via wifi with Numericable... so I called them... I hit a dumbass who kept muttering that my WEP key was located behind my modem and consisted of 26 characters... I tried explaining to him 100 times that there was no WEP key written anywhere and there was nowhere 26 characters (I even tried with other codes), but he kept telling me "the WEP key is on the back of the modem, 26 characters" "yes, sir I understand, thank you, but I can read there is nowhere WEP key and I can count and there is nowhere 26 characters..." "It's not possible, the WEP key with 26 characters..."

I also have Numericable and I have a PSP, but I don’t know how to connect to the internet with my PSP.
I had the same problem. I called customer service, and the person I spoke with insisted that there were 26 characters under my modem, whereas I only had 13!! She wouldn't listen to a thing. So I went to Numericable with my modem; they told me I needed to replace my modem with a modem-router. The replacement cost 70 euros for the modem. but now it works!!! my son can use his laptop. I hope I helped you. have a good day
try the 13, everyone who needs 13 digits. I can’t figure out how to find the WEP key behind my modem. rrrrrrrrrrrrrr me wanting to connect with a friend on the Wii. it’s failed!!!
tip for everyone: Rouen computer is the provider of numericable, call them and they’ll give you it, I have no answers because they’re on vacation!! phone number removed Moderation CCM

For the modem, look at the back; it says username and password. Go to your modem’s website and disable the WEP key.
look behind and you will see serial or mac then you enter the thirteen digits that correspond either to the mac or a serial computer
Hi, I have the same issue as you. I’d like to connect my girlfriend’s computer to the Wi-Fi, but I can’t find my security key. I have the THG250 modem. Please respond as soon as possible.
To find the WEP/WPA Wi‑Fi key, simply go to your modem settings by connecting via Ethernet to access the settings. The addresses vary depending on your provider. To find the Wi‑Fi key, just go to the Wi‑Fi page/section of your modem.
