Hello,
I need to format a Word document like this:
defined thing.....................page 24
defined thing 2...................page 25

So I used the Format-> Tabulation function
Align right, Option 2 (dotted line)

The problem is that I have dozens to do and I can't seem to paste this line of dots...! So I have to do them manually.

Do you have any tips that could save me time, please?
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.11

Well, the best I found is this:

However, you have to do it BEFORE typing the text. So for me, it's messed up, I'm going to have fun with copy/paste :)
Unless a little email knows the trick...

I copied the trick for you in case the link disappears...

Little dots all along the line [tip]
Word: create a form where the questions end with a succession of dots up to the right edge of the page.

Don't type the dots yourself because every time you add or remove a single character, you'll need to readjust them.
Instead, use a tab.

Place the insertion point in the paragraph at the end of which you want to add dotted lines.
In the numbered ruler under the toolbars, click all the way to the right, at the right margin.
A tab mark will appear.
Double-click on it.
Select the little dots as the trailing points and click OK.
Click in the paragraph at the end of the sentence and press the Tab key.
Since this is a tab, you can insert or delete text, the dotted lines will always appear in the tabbed space.
Press the [Enter] key: the new paragraph benefits from the same type of tab.

Hello
I find the explanation quite poor.
The best thing is to select all the text
then click on "the ruler," a "┘" appears on the ruler
move it to the right margin
double click on the symbol then choose the desired shape.
And finally, just put a tab where you want and the text will align.

I hope this helps you!

Try using the keyboard shortcuts...

Select your dashed line, then press Ctrl + C, then go where you want to paste it and press Ctrl + V.

Hi,

Thanks, but I must not have been precise enough, sorry.

The Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V are the first things I did.

The problem is not knowing how to paste... it's that it only pastes a simple tab without putting the dotted lines when I do it.

Any ideas?
