Wii Sleep Mode

Hello,
I just bought a charging station for wiimotes, USB connection. It works as long as the console is on (green light) but the charging stops as soon as I turn it off. I believe the Wii can go into standby mode (in which case charging should work) but I don't know how to enable that option.
Note: I'm not connected to the internet, so I can't activate Wii Connect24.

Thank you in advance for your help.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.11

To put the console in standby (orange light), you need to activate WiiConnect24 in the Wii settings. Go to the home screen, select settings and it's on page 2. This allows the console to stay connected to the internet 24/7 and therefore be in standby to recharge the Wii remote controllers.

You're welcome, guys...

I still can't put it to sleep and I don't want to go online for now.
How can I do it?

I had the same issue and it was because Wii24 was not activated. It seems that standby mode is only active if Wii24 is enabled in the Wii settings menu.

you go to options wii_you go to wii24_it connects to the internet_you accept_it returns to the wii menu_you have the wii shop and everything else (but you don't care, it's not a big deal)
now when you press and hold to turn it off, it's yellow, it's in standby
long press it's red, it's off
plus with wii24 you can enter contests on mario kart

I've tried what you said, but it's not possible; you need to be connected to the internet to do that.

why make it simple when you can make it complicated?

He's the only one who's right. It's not by practicing assistance that you'll learn anything.

Same problem as my previous classmates.
I don’t have internet at home. Therefore, I cannot activate Wii24 because during the activation there is a connection test, and if there is no connection, there's no activation of Wii24.
So, how can I put the Wii in sleep mode and finally recharge the batteries when I'm not playing???

I'm getting fed up!!

I’ve tried everything to put my Wii in standby but nothing works, the red light keeps turning on which doesn’t allow me to charge my Wiimote

WHAT DO I DO? I’m losing it over this for the past 2 hours, I’ve already turned my console on and off 100 times without success!!

The Wii console goes into standby mode when you put it to sleep using the WiiMote. However, when you turn off the console using the power button on the Wii, you shut it down completely. Are you having any issues connecting to the internet or is that just your preference?

When I turn off the console from the Wiimote, the result is the same as when I turn it off from the console, and as a result, my charger also turns off.

I have the same problem as Vietindian. I can't recharge my remote. Additionally, when the console is on, I have a red light on the charging station instead of a green one. I also haven't connected my Wii to the internet. Is it necessary to do so to recharge my Wiimote with the charging station?
Thank you in advance

Quand tu dis que le voyant de la Wii est rouge ou orange, c'est que si le voyant est rouge, elle est éteinte, mais si il est orange, elle est en veille.
