Here are what I think are the 3 easiest methods for cutting out in Photoshop CS: (I'll start with the easiest to the least easy :p)

Hello,
In the Photoshop interface on the left, you have a toolbar.
The third icon in this toolbar is used for outlining.
If you right-click on this icon, three more will appear.
The first icon is for manual outlining completely.
The second is for making straight lines (probably the one you’ll need for your furniture).
And the last one is the magnetic lasso, which will automatically follow a contour, but it’s better to have a bit of practice to master it.
Now, just drag your photo into Photoshop, choose the tool that suits you best, and outline your furniture.
If you want to erase what's around your furniture, outline the furniture, and once you're done, press SHIFT+CTRL+I and delete.
I hope this information will be useful to you...

Hello... and good luck... if you don't know Photoshop... but you should always try and... anyway, practice is the only thing that pays off...
... well, there are many possibilities for cutting out in Photoshop... it depends on the photo or what you want to do...
1) LASSO: quick, imprecise, for cutting out quickly and roughly (tools)
2) POLYGONAL LASSO: good for simple shapes, imprecise, no correction possibilities (tools)
3) MAGNETIC LASSO: relatively quick, for high-contrast images, to be precise... patience (tools)
4) MAGIC WAND: quick, effective for "solid" shapes, you need to adjust the tolerance (tools)
5) ERASER: direct, no prior selection, patience (tools)
6) PEN: great precision, unfortunately you need to know how to use it, possibility of modification (tools)
7) COLOR RANGE: quick, imprecise, similar to the magic wand... in its genre (tools)
8) EXTRACT: very effective for hair, fur, etc., generally correction (in filters)
9) MASK: (under the toolbox or in layers) good for selecting parts of images...
... if you are a novice, use the very comprehensive help or there are many tutorial sites (exercises) that can explain Photoshop's functions to you...
... once again, good luck, perseverance...

I followed your explanation for cropping a subject and it works, but I don’t have the solution for resizing the cropped subject to fit into another image. Can you help me?
Thank you
YB
You choose the 'layer' on which the cut-out subject is located, you can use keyboard shortcuts by pressing simultaneously, CTRL+T (on Windows) or COMMAND+T (on Mac).
You will then be able to resize your subject :)
There you go, good luck!
