The stated problem is related to hardware incompatibility in most cases.
To remedy this:
Do not install from a burner but from a regular CD drive.
Check the quality of the NAP cable; everything should be fine.

Enjoy !!

Hi Marseau...
I'm afraid you might be in a bit of trouble with your laptop. The solution I present in this forum is 100% valid for regular stations. I've never experienced this kind of problem with a laptop. Maybe a little visit to your computer manufacturer's website could help you.
As for me, I'm out of ideas on the matter.
Sorry.

Hello, I have another issue: during the installation, a message appears saying:
d:/I386/asms. incorrect parameter.

Why: "incorrect parameter"?

Important This section, method, or task explains how to modify the Registry. However, serious problems may occur if you modify the Registry incorrectly. Therefore, be sure to follow these steps closely. For added protection, back up the Registry before modifying it. You will then be able to restore it in case of problems. For more information on backing up and restoring the Registry, click the number below to display the corresponding article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
322756 Procedure for backing up, modifying, and restoring the Registry in Windows XP

When the error message appears, press SHIFT+F10 to start a command session.
Type regedit.exe and then press ENTER.
Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
In the File menu, click on Load Hive, then load %Windir%\System32\Config\System.sav.
When prompted to enter a name, type Test.
Locate and click on the following Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Test\ControlSet1\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Delete the Registry keys UPPERFILTERS and LOWERFILTERS.
Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the other ControlSet# keys under the Test hive.
Click on the File menu, then on Exit to quit the Registry Editor.
If the path indicated in the error message matches the letter of the CD-ROM drive, click OK to continue running the installer.
If the error message appears again, this means the installer is unable to read data correctly from the CD-ROM drive or the path information is incorrect. In this case, restart your computer and let the installer resume.

Oh yeah? And what do you do if XP is not installed? In my opinion, you're talking nonsense!

Hello,

I know this forum is no longer current, but there is a solution: burn your image to a DVD and then there are no more problems.

It's simply the CD that is either damaged or poorly recorded for a burned CD.
