How to check if you're listed with a provider

Hello,

My husband passed away in February 2006 and I didn't want to continue paying for his Orange subscription... which they did not appreciate at all, the line was in his name but the payments were taken from my account... in July 2006, Orange listed me as a bad payer (arffff)

I would like to know if there is a website to check if I am still listed... because I need to take out a business plan and I don't want to feel embarrassed if it's refused at the time of subscription...

Thank you

and best wishes..

Kisses

Hello Soledad, and first of all, best wishes for 2008

Concerning the listing of an operator, it is only based on the name of the account holder and not the payer (they have strange practices at Orange) since it is the one who signed the contract who is committed to the operator and is therefore responsible for the payments

Furthermore, the death of the account holder is a termination clause with exemption from the contractual months. Did you do what was necessary at the time to inform customer service? If not, it should be possible to rectify this by explaining that following the death of your spouse you were not in a position to undertake the procedures, etc. You should attach a copy of the death notice to the letter. Request an amicable remedy

Finally, to know if you are actually listed with other operators, you need to write to Préventel, the organization that centralizes listing requests from French operators info here --> http://www.preventel.fr/InformationsPratiques4.html#FAQ4
If the listing is confirmed, you can contest it by explaining what I mentioned above

Thank you for your response...

When my partner passed away, I sent the requested death certificate. But then Orange asked me for the name of the notary handling the estate to settle the bill corresponding to 15 euros x 20 months remaining on the subscription... I replied explaining that there was no estate, so no notary, and that since I was not the account holder, I was not responsible for settling the bill, and that's when it all went awry, and I ended up being blacklisted...

If I am blacklisted, how long could that last if I don’t pay this bill... of 300 euros
anyway I can't pay it... I'm alone with 2 children and I've just started a job as a sales representative, hence the need for a professional line...

thank you
kisses

Good evening Soledad, what can I say...

I strongly encourage you to read Orange's terms and conditions regarding the exemption following the death of the account holder. If this mention is indeed included, I advise you to get in touch with a consumer association to assert your rights.

Finally, also contact Preventel to see at what level they have flagged you.
