Long delay between sending and receiving emails

Question

Hello,   For a few weeks now, I've noticed something quite annoying: I receive emails 4 to 6 hours after they're sent by the sender. At first, I thought it was just one operator, not to name names, that was acting up, but it turns out it's everyone. The problematic messages are sent in the evening and only appear in my Free mailbox around midnight to 1 AM. The messages are sent instantly and are received just as quickly in the morning or during the day. I should clarify that messages with or without attachments are affected, whether they're heavy or very light.  Have you noticed this issue? What could it be due to? A global network problem (saturated traffic) or an issue with my ISP?  Thank you for your responses. Best regards

Hello,   I have the same problem for several days now and I haven't found a solution yet ;-) I'm with Free and I use Incredimail. Have you managed to find out what the problem is?  Thank you!  Nath

No, not yet. It's especially in the evening that the phenomenon occurs, and I'm unable to tell if it's coming from Free, meaning whether there's a heavy load on their mail servers, or if there's a block upstream. I could understand why a message might be held up at the beginning, but what's the point at the end? On Free's side, it's not even worth reporting the issue because when things don't work at all, they have a hard time responding, so now that it works somewhat, I'm sure it will remain unanswered.

I too am a victim of this problem. My emails take more than 24 hours to reach me, and even then, I'm not sure that all of them arrive. However, sending emails outside seems to be working correctly. I am open to any solutions! TT

I have the same problem. My emails from Free sometimes arrive several days after they are sent, which is indeed very annoying. I have never encountered this issue with other providers. I really feel like the only solution is to leave Free.

Hello, Same problem, recently. I don't think it's the provider's fault since I'm using a Yahoo address. Looking at the complete header of the emails, my three emails waited 6h, 8h, and 14h in Singapore... The emails were sent from the Philippines, but even an email sent a few kilometers away can travel very far. We're going to have to dive into mail-ology...
