Hello,
I would like some advice on the following point:
my old Super 8 film projector 'SANKYO DUALUX 1000', which I haven't used for a long time, has a problem that prevents me from using it: the film drive no longer works.
When I insert the end of the film into the loading slot, the film does not engage; in fact, I can't push the film into the loading slot; (but if the loop former's not in the lower position, I can push the film into the loading slot)
Considering that I don't know the film drive mechanism of my projector at all, and that I am not very handy, would it be better for me to borrow (where?) another projector or to have it repaired (by whom?) or to try repairing it myself?

I am troubled and would like to find a solution.
I just acquired a Super 8 movie projector, model TACNON SOUND 707, and it’s missing the belt.
I heard that it can be replaced with an O-ring, that’s fine,
but I don’t know where to place this famous belt!
Does anyone know of an address where I could find an exploded view or any other information regarding my problem?

You need to unscrew the 2 screws on the left cover and change the belt. An elastic will do the job. It's easy to change. You can also find belts for sale on eBay.
I own a Sankyo Dualux 1000 projector and the belt is broken. I've replaced it with elastic bands, but they don't last long. Could you please provide me with the address of a place where I could find one? Thank you in advance. Regards.
I did the same as you, I went to SNTF Michaud Chailly in Saint Léonard 76400, phone 02 35 29 64 91, email fecamp@michaud-chailly.fr with my 'SANKYO DUALUX 1000' and they sold me an O-ring that works perfectly for me, it doesn't break anymore and the speed is good, we can even reduce it for a price of about 7€ for the ring, I think you can do the same in your area.
