Version incompatible de la carte RPC ?

Je me rappelle vaguement que c'était une affaire de dll à remplacer car celle installée est défectueuse. Je ne me rappelle malheureusement plus du nom de cette dernière si ce n'est un truc de 3-4 lettres qui commence par o je crois?! Sinon j'avais trouvé la solution en effectuant une recherche sur google "carte rpc" et il y avait plein de forums traitant de la question. Bonne chance !!

I will try and keep this short.
I installed a program on a Windows 98 SE computer.
The program utilised VB Script and automated Excel to create some simple spreadsheets.
After doing this the program failed to run.
I had an VB Script error of “80070725” “Incompatible version of the RPC Stub.”
And Excel error “-2147417848” “Automation error”.
I think the Excel error read something like “Application-defined or object-defined error”.
The conclusion of the story was that my installer had picked up my Windows XP OLEAUT32.DLL file and installed it onto a Windows 98 SE computer.
This apparently corrupted basic OLE.
I am pretty sure that COM (in the Excel Automation) was still working fine, even though it is pretty much based on OLE.
Almost all Excel object were created okay, and the properties and methods worked well too.
The point that the Excel automation fell over is where I was trying to place data into a cell.
I have a suspicion that Excel “selects” the cell that you are placing the data into – which would still point back to OLE problems rather than COM.
So, all we had to do is put the old system files on.
There are two ways of doing this.
Firstly you can reboot to MS DOS mode and simply copy the old OLE files to your windows\system directory.
Since the computers that had the problem were 1,000 km away (I think that is around 620 Miles) and we were dialled in through remote support, this was not an option.
Instead we altered the Autoexec.bat to copy the files across.
This worked.
Windows runs Autoexec before it locks any of the system files.
In conclusion - don't ever install OLEAUT32.DLL.
It is much simply to install the latest internet explorer, which has these OLE files,
OR install the latest windows patch rather than installing it yourself (or letting your install program install it).
Since it took me hours to hunt down the problem and find a solution I thought that I would put this here –
it would have been very helpful for me if something like this was posted somewhere on the net.
