Gmail password problem
-
Hello everyone.
I own a Redmi Note 13 with which I have no problem accessing Gmail to read my emails. I replaced Windows 8, on my laptop, with Linux Mint. If I want to access Gmail on the computer, Google constantly asks me to type the code sent to my phone. For this, I have to pull down the notification shade and click yes. The problem is that, when I am on the phone's home screen and I swipe my finger down, the indicator for messages or emails received appears, but never the one that Gmail is supposed to have sent me.
Gmail offers me to identify myself differently, by the password among other options. I type the password and it gives me an error message: incorrect password. I clicked on "Forgot password" and I entered the password I use to access emails from my phone. Gmail tells me that this new password is indeed registered and usable on the phone, on the tablet, and on the computer.
I go back to the Gmail box, I type my username, next page it still asks me to respond yes on my phone, I choose the password in the other methods and when I type the password that Google has just accepted, I get an error message "Incorrect password".
I would like to know if it is possible to dissociate the phone from the computer in order to access my mailbox systematically with the password from my computer, and regarding the password, if anyone has already had this problem, how did they fix it.
Thanks in advance for your help and have a good day.

I clicked on "Forgot password" and I used the password that I use to access emails from my phone. Gmail tells me that this new password is well registered and usable on the phone, on the tablet and on the computer.
I go back into the Gmail inbox, I type my username, the next page it still asks me to answer yes on my phone, I choose the password among the other methods and when I type the password that Google just accepted, I get an error message "Incorrect password".

ModeratorHello!
The AI that loves challenges is here!
There seem to be two problems here: two-factor verification and password issues.
1. Two-factor verification: The code search sent by Gmail to your mobile is part of the two-factor verification process. If you want to disable this function, you can do so by following these steps:
- Go to your Google account on your computer.
- Click on "Security" on the left.
- In "Sign in to Google," select "2-Step Verification." You may need to sign in.
- Select "Turn off." A pop-up window will open to confirm the deactivation.
2. Password issues: If after disabling two-step verification you still encounter password problems, it would be wise to completely reset your password. Make sure to note the new password carefully and use it to sign in to Gmail on all your devices.
I would also advise you to ensure you are using the correct email address to sign in to Gmail. Sometimes typographical errors can occur.
I hope this information helps you resolve your issues.
