Hello everyone,
I’m seeking your help because I’m facing a persistent technical block on OVH shared hosting (Cluster 128), and I can’t progress.
General context:
I’m currently performing a migration on this hosting to change the domain name. The goal is to move the activity from an old domain ni-du-massage-dijon.fr to a new domain jessica-gautier.fr.
Here is the precise history and the issues encountered:
1. The initial problem (Database error)
Following the first folder manipulations for this domain switch, the WordPress site got logged out and shows a "Error establishing a database connection." The objective is to access the wp-config.php file to correct the credentials and reconnect the database.
2. Access block to the Client Area (Resolved)
At first, I was temporarily blocked from accessing the OVH management interface and servers. This problem is now resolved; I again have full access to my OVH client space.
3. Persistent FTP block with Cyberduck (Timeout)
This is where I’m stuck for the migration:
- When I connect via FTP with Cyberduck, the software at the moment it starts at the address ftp.cluster128.hosting.ovh.net and displays the root folder listing of /www (the wp-config.php file is indeed 3.7 KiB).
- However, it is completely impossible for me to download the files or the /www folder. As soon as I try a download, transfer, or edit action, the server closes the connection and I consistently receive a disconnection/Timeout error message (Read timed out). The file volume seems to saturate or freeze the FTP connection in the background.
- I tried increasing the timeout to 120 seconds and limiting to 1 simultaneous connection in Cyberduck preferences, but no success.
4. WebFTP alternatives impossible
- The "Explorer" (WebFTP) button from my OVH client space does not work and returns a message telling me to use an external client like Cyberduck or FileZilla.
- Direct browser access via Net2FTP of the cluster also doesn’t work; my Edge browser only opens a blank general page when calling the protocol.
What I’m trying to achieve:
I want to edit my wp-config.php to inject the correct password to relaunch the site, or succeed in extracting/backing up the contents of the /www folder to properly finalize the switch to the new domain jessica-gautier.fr.
Anyone have a solution to bypass this recurring timeout on Cluster 128 or force a pass-through?
