Hello,

I hope you are all doing well ^^

I have:

- an Alienware Aurora 13

- an HP ELITEBOOK laptop

- a KVM VP-SW220

I am using at least USB 3.0 cables:

- for the laptop, I go through a USB C HUB that gives me 1 HDMI and one USB 3.0).

- for the Alienware, I put a 2m USB C to USB A 3.0 cable and even tried to connect a USB 3.0 (a 3.2 gen 2 cable) above it.

The problem is that my Alienware with USB C limits me to USB 2.1, while with my ELITEBOOK laptop, the USB is not limited!

So my 4K Webcam is limited on my desktop...

I have tried updating the drivers, swapping the connections between the laptop and the desktop, but it doesn't change anything. I tried plugging it into another USB C port and even attempted USB A to USB A on the Alienware, but nothing works.

If someone has any ideas, I'm all ears, I'm starting to feel depressed and go crazy!

Hello

Recent laptops are often equipped with a Thunderbolt USB-C port that allows you to charge the laptop's battery. These ports are the most efficient, and you can recognize them by the small lightning bolt drawn next to the port.

This type of USB-C is not found on a desktop PC.

If I'm correct, there is no solution. Except for adding a specific controller card.
