Hello,

I want to change my computer tower.

What do you recommend, the least expensive possible, but still "decent," knowing that:

 - I don't play games

- I need a DVD drive

- With Windows 11, of course.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

    Hello,

In order for us to advise you properly, you should have told us your maximum budget. It's worth noting that PCs with integrated DVD drives/burners have become rare.

    Hello Palmyre22700

For Windows 11, an official recent processor is required; see the specifications provided by MS on their official windows-11-specifications site !!

DVD drives are not very common anymore, but it's easy to add one to a desktop or laptop since external USB DVD drives are available...

Personally, I haven't bought new machines for 10 years... I really like Backmarket, which guarantees them for 1 year (France), but "brokers" also offer good machines. For example: https://www.ebay.fr/str/greendotit or also https://www.ebay.fr/str/humcomputer

But those are just my suggestions, and here, others will offer you different choices...

    Happy New Year 2026

      Hello,

I do not recommend refurbished items; they often use very low-end no-name SSDs that are incredibly slow and other tricks to make a profit.

    Hello,

Yes, for a Mini PC, it can. I have one with an N100, a Chuwi HeroBox, it's not bad for office work, the only complaint is that the supposed USB 3.1 stagnates at 40MB/s, so the USB could have been more efficient.

And as for the DVD, the Mini PC's ports and the Mini PC's power supply need to be able to power an external Blu-ray reader/burner, like the LG BP50NB40 for example, with an MK or Libredrive firmware to read UHD BDs.

You need at least 2 free USB ports on the Mini PC to power the burner with a Y cable with at least 1A I believe for burning, reading requires less current than burning.
