Hello,

I installed Windows 11 using the support provided by Microsoft to allow older PCs to bypass the TPM 2.0 check and the creation of a new registry key value.

Installation was easy thanks to the excellent tutorial by Dominic Lessard.

Everything works perfectly, the PC is fast.

But!

I have been experiencing a startup issue since then!

When I turn on the PC, the homepage opens normally, but I can't enter my PIN because all the keys on the keyboard are inactive!

I restart the PC and on the second startup, everything works normally!

Do you know how to fix this bug?

Thank you

    Hello,

Note: A PIN code can also be entered using the letters and number(s) F1 to F12 on the keyboard, which is one of the reasons why they consist only of numbers.

" I restart the PC and on the second boot, everything works normally! "

    So it was temporary?

    Was the remedy to restart?

You can, as a precaution or repair:

By right-clicking on the start button, use this command with Windows PowerShell (Admin Terminal)

    CHKDSK /F C:

Respond with Y for Yes to then restart Windows.

    Then

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    Then

    sfc /scannow

    Good evening,

If the problem persists, also try disabling fast startup.

In the control panel, power options, change the behavior of the power buttons, click on Change settings... (in blue), uncheck: enable fast startup, save.

Startup will be a bit longer (a few seconds) but the keyboard will be active.

    Hello,

Is the BIOS up to date?

To me, this seems like a firmware and software issue; I'm not sure it's solvable, but sometimes small, insignificant things can unlock the situation on a PC, you just have to find them.

    Hello,

the problem seems to be resolved: I disabled fast startup several times (turning it on and off during multiple restarts) because it didn't work the first time.

In the end, it seems to be stable now.
