Hello,
If I try to access my account via the Yahoo site with my email address and password, I receive the message:
An error has occurred
We could not connect you. Please try again from another device.
A search on the issue yields only one reported case for an iPhone in August 2025 that went unanswered. If I try to log in with Thunderbird (on Windows 11), the application generates a window "Enter credentials for ... on imap.mail.yahoo.com" with the content Edge: Too Many Requests.
Same result, regardless of which computer is used.
Cannot contact Yahoo, even through Google.
Any ideas on this topic? Thank you in advance

Same problem. Solution for me: Yahoo web page "security" generate app password. In Thunderbird manual configuration, authorization: Normal (not Oauth2)
Thank you for this information, unfortunately it hasn’t helped me to make progress, maybe because I didn’t find the right page. I went to https://legal.yahoo.com/us/en/yahoo/privacy/topics/security/index.html where I found nothing.
I hadn't detailed all the tricks I had used, for example going through https://help.yahoo.com/kb/reset-yahoo-password-sln27051.html to the "Sign-in Helper" at https://login.yahoo.com/account/challenge/username?authMechanism=secondary&done=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.yahoo.com%2F&sessionIndex=QQ-- where I entered the recovery email and requested the verification code. Yesterday after waiting, I gave up and the code arrived a few minutes later. Today I tried again and waited much longer: never any code. I tried a third time and the code came immediately. I was asked to change my password, which allowed me to access the site. This problem is therefore already resolved. The question remains about Thunderbird. I first tried the automatic setup: account found but Finished generates the Edge blocking window.... So I tried the manual setup which generates the response account not found. I am therefore looking for a way to bypass this obstacle while being convinced that the problem lies with Edge which I have tried to clear without it giving me the solution.
