I would like to recover the videos from the mini DV tapes

here is the connection of the camcorder

on my Asus laptop with Windows 11, I have 2 USB-C ports and 1 HDMI

on the 2013 MacBook Pro, I have 2 Thunderbolt ports and 1 USB 3

Does anyone have links to a cable that would allow the transfer?

thank you, that would help me a lot

Hello and welcome as a new member. I see that you did not receive the appropriate answer. I will take over and am ready to respond to you.

You have an old mini DV camcorder, and you are wondering how to use it to transfer its content to a PC, I believe.

Hello Medhi, your camcorder is old, so "back in the day" the transfer was done through a ieee1394 card, which is now gone from computers. I suggest installing this card for a desktop PC to digitize your films. You will need to use editing software to finish your film with music, cuts, and titles. The cable to use is the DV output to the FireWire (ieee1394) input.

On a laptop, please check if you have this FireWire ieee1394 port. A Thunderbolt port with a DV connection might work. Check the tutorial, but I cannot guarantee it.

If you have a Thunderbolt port, there are adapters that might work for your camcorder. Check this overview.
