Problem connecting to ChatGPT

Hello,
I downloaded the Chat GPT app but I'm unable to log in.
I'm on an iPhone 12 mini, iOS 18.4.
When I launch the app there are no issues, but when I try to log in it says "ChatGPT" wants to use "openai.com" to log in I click continue, a page opens "auth.openai.com" which tells me:
"Sorry, an error occurred!"
The operation is insecure
Retry (it's a button)"
I should point out that Safari doesn't work either; I can open the site but I can't click on anything.
However, on Brave (my default browser) everything works correctly, I can even log in with my account.
Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
So I asked GPT to fix the problem (I hadn't thought of that before posting my message). It found a solution. ^^
After asking me to do several things, including what HelpiOS asked me to do, here’s the conclusion:
"So it’s not the ChatGPT app that’s the issue — it’s OpenAI's connection system (auth.openai.com) that’s broken on your end because of:
-
Bad DNS resolution
-
Rejected SSL certificates
-
Browser (internal WebView on the iPhone) failing
Radical but clean solution: Reset system settings
Not a complete reset of the iPhone — just the system settings, which often fixes bugs like this."
The reset worked. I was able to log in.
It's amazing what AI can do. I’ve asked it to help me with several things already, and each time it finds a solution. Super useful! I definitely recommend it.
Anyway, thank you for taking the time to respond to me. :)
Hello,
Activate the automatic date and time setting in the Settings of the iPhone > General > Date & Time. Then, clear the browsing data from Safari by going to Settings > Apps > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
Now try to log in. If the problem persists, try logging in directly on Safari in private browsing mode. If any extensions are active, disable them.
Hello,
An iPhone 12 keeps asking to reinstall this update, the same one: iOS 18.4, I don’t know why.
I have an iPhone 15 Plus and I don’t know when the 17th installation of 18.4 took place, but I’ve reinstalled it at least four times.
So check this in: General << Software Update and see if it asks for it again.
After that, I don’t know if this is related to ChatGPT or not.
Thank you for your responses.
So, regarding the update, I'm good. It doesn't require me to reinstall.
As for the date and time, I'm set to automatic. I cleared the site's history/data, but it still doesn't work, whether in normal or private mode.
I really feel like it’s Safari that’s messing up. I just used it without any issues on Brave to create some images.
I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling (GPT), and restarting my phone.
When I go to settings/Safari/extensions, there’s something "ChatGPT Search".
I tried to allow the extension just in case, but it doesn’t change anything.
Hi,
I found this on Google:
to use the ChatGPT extension with Apple Intelligence, you must have an iPhone 16 model, an iPhone 15 Pro, or an iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 18.2 or later, and have Apple Intelligence activated.
I will check on my phone by trying to install it since I'm not a fan of all these AIs, whatever they may be.
I will let you know.
Sorry and see you later on CCM.
Well, it seems to be working for me because it says in the bottom right:
Message to ChatGPT.
I installed it via the Store.
Afterward, I plan to delete this application.
It works for me, and on my wife's iPhone 10 Max too.
I see that ChatGPT was able to fix itself! It's still incredible this AI. Thank you for coming back to give us the solution, it's greatly appreciated.
