Hello

I have a Panasonic DMC-TZ70 camera with 252 photos. (trip)

It's impossible to transfer all of them to my computer; only 68 have been transferred.

I'm wondering why?

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me.

Best regards.

Have a nice day

    Hello,

Here are the possible causes of the problem and detailed steps to try to resolve it.

    1. Check the available space on the computer

If your hard drive is nearly full, the transfer may stop.

    ???? How to check?

    • On Windows: Go to This PC and look at the space bar under your main drive (usually "C:").

    • On Mac: Click on the Apple menu > About This Mac > Storage.

    ???? Solution:

    • Delete unnecessary files or transfer them to an external drive.

    • Try transferring the remaining photos after freeing up space.

    2. Check the USB connection mode

Sometimes, the camera is connected in "Read-only" mode, preventing transfer.

    ???? Solution:

    1. Disconnect the camera and reconnect it.

    2. Check if a message appears on the camera screen asking you to choose between "PC," "PictBridge," "Mass Storage," etc.

    3. Select "Mass Storage" to facilitate the transfer.

    3. Try another USB cable or USB port

A faulty cable can interrupt the transfer.

    ???? Solution:

    • Use another USB cable (ideally an official Panasonic cable or a certified good quality cable).

    • Test another USB port on the computer.

    • Try another computer if possible.

    4. Insert the SD card directly into the computer

The camera may limit the transfer, while the SD card can be read directly.

    ???? Solution:

    1. Remove the SD card from the camera.

    2. Insert it into an SD card reader on your computer (if available).

    3. Open File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) and access the files directly.

    4. Manually copy the photos to your computer.

If some photos do not display, they may be corrupted or in an unrecognized format.

    5. Check if the photos are in RAW (RW2) format

Some Panasonic devices record photos in RAW (RW2), which are not always readable without specialized software.

    ???? Solution:

    • Check if some und transferred photos have the .RW2 extension.

    • Install compatible software like Adobe Lightroom, RawTherapee (free) or the official Panasonic software Silkypix.

    • Convert the RAW files to JPEG if necessary.

    6. Check if the files are corrupted

If some photos are damaged, they cannot be copied.

    ???? Solution:

    1. Open the photos directly from the SD card to see if they display.

    2. Try to copy the photos that won't transfer one by one.

    3. Use data recovery software like Recuva (Windows) or PhotoRec (Mac & Windows).

    7. Use another transfer software

The software you are using may be limited.

    ???? Solution:

    • Try transferring the photos manually:

      • Windows: Open This PC > Access the device > DCIM > Copy the files.

      • Mac: Open Finder, find the device and copy the files.

    • Use software like Adobe Bridge, Image Capture (Mac) or an alternative file manager.

    Have a nice day
