New captvty files unreadable on TV

Hello,

We have been heavy users of Captvty for several years. However, for some time now, the files created by Captvty are unreadable on one of our two TVs.

Out of curiosity, we redownloaded a show that we had already downloaded and noticed an increase in the size of the new files. In one example:

new: 3,508,973 kb, old: 1,391,690 kb

What happened? What solution is there?

    Hello.

    The file format of Captvty is probably not supported by one of your televisions; to be readable, it needs to be converted into a format supported by that television.

      I complete: the files have always been .ts and .mp4

      There must be several kinds of .ts and .mp4...

    Thank you for taking the time to respond.

    What strikes me is that until now this TV could read ALL the files created by Captvty. It is only recently that the problem has arisen.

      The format of the videos may have changed and is not supported by one of your TVs.

    Hello,

    I noticed the presence of videos using the HEVC codec.

    That might be the issue.

    Check that the video can be played on a computer with VLC. The Windows player cannot read them (unless you buy the codec).

      Hello,

      Is it specific to one channel? The latest version 3 is already from November, so it's not the software that has changed.

    Thank you for your response.

    I noticed the problem with several channels, BUT all from the France Televisions group, which must have made some recent modifications.

    With other channels, everything is fine. With the beta version of Captvty, the shows from Arte with mp4 files are playable everywhere.

    Captvty is not to blame! Sorry for involving it.
