Hello,

Since yesterday, my Android phone shows 2 Gmail notifications on the lock screen and only one in the messages.. so it's a notification issue, but how can I remove one?

I've been looking since yesterday, I check, I uncheck.. and still 2 notifications.

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

If you are using multiple accounts in Gmail, this notification may be related to one of your other accounts. Select your profile picture in Gmail to switch accounts.

If you are only using one account, try these steps:

  • Block and then re-enable notifications for Gmail. Go to Settings > Notifications > Gmail.
  • Restart your phone.
  • Update Gmail.
  • Disable and re-enable the app. Go to Settings > Apps > Gmail > Disable > Cancel (to avoid reverting to the old version of Gmail) > Enable.

Good evening, I had to change the Gmail settings, I get two notifications for a new message and no arrival signal anymore.

Therefore, I want to uninstall the app on my smartphone and reinstall it without affecting the Google account.

I believe I will find all my messages and other labels again, but I would like to be sure about this.

Thank you for responding on this last point.

Thank you.

To answer your question, I confirm that nothing will be affected on your account if you uninstall Gmail. The data is stored on the server.

Before proceeding, check the notification settings for the labels. Go to > Menu (3 horizontal lines) > Settings > your account > Manage labels.

If you have multiple labels with notifications enabled, disable those that are unnecessary, while keeping the one for the main inbox enabled.
